Youth Unplugged is a 501c3 non-profit that raises awareness about technology balance through outdoor play classes and camps. By focusing on discovery, storytelling, and connection, we help children create a healthy lifestyle that is holistic, balanced, eco-friendly, and encourages imagination & exploration.
Children are playing less outdoors while time spent on devices increases at tremendous rates. However, this comes at a cost to the social and self-development of our children. At Youth Unplugged we want to help children learn and maintain a balanced life at an imperative age- upper elementary- the time when/before social media and video games become habits.
Through the support of the community, near and far, we are able to run tuition-FREE day camps & run Youth Unplugged Academy, our weekly outdoor play-class sessions. YU helps 2nd to 5th graders learn valuable life lessons while playing with others in Nature, as well as offers parent workshops and community events. Incorporating Indigenous eco-holistic values alongside clinical expertise to address issues such as: technology balance, self-esteem, social interactions, communication and friendship, we can begin developing healthy habits and change through these weekly outdoor play experiences. The power of doing what we are supposed to do as children....be in nature, make new friends, & have fun together!
thank you to everyone that attended our spring tuition-free camps!
